The title of my piece is called “Believe”. This photo was taken on the top of the hill at the duck pond near Rancho Buena Vista High School. The compositional rule that this photograph represents is framing because o the mirror that the boy is holding. It is the object that stands out the most and was the easiest to define what compositional rule it was. The camera that was used to take this photograph was a Nikon D5300, with an 18-140mm lens. How I created the image was by using adobe photo shop. To create this photograph I first went onto Google to find an image of a pier because I did not have one and I wanted the boy to stand out. Next I went to Google again and searched for a mirror picture for the boy to hold in his hand to help create the illusion. Once I found those pictures I opened up adobe photo shop and uploaded the picture of the pier, the mirror, the boy standing up with his hands in the air which I uploaded from my computer in photos, and I last uploaded the picture of the boy sitting with his legs crossed also from my computer. Now the two pictures of the boy are my photo’s taken at the duck pond. The others are from Google to help create the final piece.
Once all of the photo’s are uploaded to adobe photo shop, I cropped the background of the picture of the boy sitting so that it was only showing him. Next I cropped him to make it so that he appeared to be sitting on the pier. Then I made a layer mask so it looked like the boy was holding the mirror and that it did not appear that the mirror was floating. Once I finished with the mirror I used the circle elliptical marquee tool to crop the picture of the boy standing to be cropped in a circular form so that it is able to fit in the mirror. I then scaled the picture in the mirror to fit the exact form of the mirror. Once the picture was all finished I matched the color balance of the picture in the mirror to match the color balance of the background.
